Easy Lasagne

This recipe is from the Thompson Family cookbook. Page 145, Elaine's recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 pkgs. spaghetti sauce mix
  • 2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
  • 6 (6 oz) cans water
  • 1/2 lb uncooked lasagna noodles
  • 12 oz cottage cheese
  • 8 oz. shredded mozzarella
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese


Directions:

  1. Prepare & refrigerate overnight or several hours before baking.
  2. Brown ground beef.
  3. Simmer together spaghetti sauce mix, tomato paste & water.
  4. Mix with meat.
  5. Place small amount of meat sauce in greased 9 x 13" pan.
  6. Layer noodles, meat sauce, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese in 3 layers.
  7. Bake at 375 for 35-40 minutes, until bubbly.
  8. Let stand 15 minutes.
  9. Serves 8-10.

This is the one I always make. We like it. One tip--shop for the ingredients (especially the sauce mix) with the lowest mg of sodium!
